Mrs. Elizabeth DAVIS, aged resident of this city died at her home, 817 W Pike at 8:20 Wednesday night of infirmities of age. She had been in failing health since November. She was born in this state July 13, 1828, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Thompson. She was united in marriage to James Davis in 1863, and in 1887 moved with him to this city where she had since made her home. Mr. Davis preceded her in death in 1890. Mrs. Davis had a wide circle of friends and was a member of the First Methodist Church. She is survived by 3 sons; Joseph L. Davis and Dr. Edgar G. Davis of Chicago and Albert E. Davis of this city. Her first husband Dr. W. T. Mullen and a son and daughter by that marriage are all 3 dead. Funeral services will be held from the home Saturday afternoon at 2 in charge of Rev. FG Howard, pastor of Trinity ME Church. Interment in Oak Hill Cemetery. - kbz
